Our intimate ceremony space within The Storr Centre provides a sophisticated setting for smaller weddings, perfectly positioned to showcase the beauty of Skye’s landscape. Whether you’re planning a Highland elopement or an intimate gathering, our team will help bring your vision to life.

Whilst we don’t offer full wedding planning services, we’re delighted to share our extensive knowledge of the island’s best wedding professionals. We’ll connect you with trusted local suppliers including photographers who know how to capture Skye’s ever-changing light, experienced celebrants, and florists who work with Scotland’s seasonal blooms.

The Venue

Our wedding package includes:

• Exclusive use of our ceremony space for the couple and up to 10 guests

• Three-hour private hire of the wedding venue at The Storr Centre

• Elegant decorative features, including a beautifully handcrafted dried flower wall

• A private area for outfit changes and secure storage of personal belongings

• A dedicated space for serving refreshments

• An intimate setting for exchanging your vows

Are ceremonies at The Storr inclusive?

Yes, The Storr welcomes all partnerships. Please see the National Records of Scotland website or contact your local registration office for further advice or guidance on the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Scotland) Act 2014 and The Civil Partnership (Scotland) Act 2020. 

Are ceremonies at The Storr Centre accessible?

The Storr Centre is fully accessible and includes dedicated disabled toilet facilities. Three accessible parking bays are available at the front of the building. We kindly ask that any specific access requirements or requests for reasonable adjustments be communicated to The Storr Centre team in advance, to ensure appropriate arrangements can be made.

Is there a secure space to store belongings?

There are currently no lockers available on site. However, we’re actively exploring options and hope to have them installed in the near future. We’ll keep this page updated with any changes. In the meantime, weddings guests can store their belongings within the ceremony space at The Storr. 

Is there a space to change clothes in The Storr Centre?

There is a private space available for changing clothes within the toilet facilities at The Storr Centre. This area is designed to offer comfort and privacy for visitors. 

How much space is in the unit?

There is space for the couple, ten guests, and the person conducting the ceremony.

Can the space be decorated?

Yes, decorations are welcome. However, we cannot accept balloons due to the environmental impact and the risk of losing them to unpredictable weather at The Storr. Banners and flowers are welcome indoors. Candles are not permitted due to the fire risk within the unit. Biodegradable confetti is welcome.

If you would like to enjoy some music as part of the ceremony, please bring a speaker with you. We are working on being able to offer a sound system to guests but unfortunately, this is not quite yet available. 

Can food be brought to the venue?

Cake or other nibbles are welcome. There are plates and cutlery available for use, free of charge. Please note that there are no cooking facilities such as an oven or hob at the venue.

Can photos be taken at the venue?

Yes, you’re welcome to take photos inside the unit and around The Storr. If you require professional photography, please ensure you arrange for a photographer in advance, as The Storr team does not provide this service.

Is the space private?

Yes, the ceremony space is separate from the rest of the unit and features blinds on the windows. This ensures a private and personal setting for your event.

Can the parties stay overnight?

There is no overnight accommodation at The Storr Centre and motorhomes are not permitted to stay overnight unless parked on-street. However, there are plenty of accommodation options on Skye. Skye is very popular with tourists so accommodation should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. 

Can pets join the ceremony?

Yes, pets are welcome at The Storr Centre. We kindly ask that any pets brought inside the unit are well-trained to ensure a comfortable experience for all visitors.

What are the opening hours?

 The Storr Centre is open 7 days a week in the summer, and Monday – Saturday in the winter.

• Summer hours (March – October): 10:00am – 5:00pm

• Winter hours (November – March): 10:00am – 3:30pm

The wedding space is available every day of the week, with access times designed to allow for setup and ceremony completion before the centre closes.

• Summer bookings: Choose between 10:00am – 1:00pm or 2:00pm – 5:00pm

• Winter bookings: Any 3-hour period between 10:00am – 3:00pm

Please note that charges vary depending on the day and time of your booking.

Can alcohol be consumed at The Storr Centre?

Yes, guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol for consumption. Alternatively, The Storr Centre holds an alcohol licence and can provide alcohol your event (additional charges apply).

Please note that unfortunately red wine is not permitted due to the risk of damage to furnishings and floor coverings.

Can we have a rehearsal before the ceremony?

Yes, guests may access the wedding venue at a pre-arranged time for up to 30 minutes prior to the day of the ceremony to hold a rehearsal. Please contact the team in advance to schedule this.

What is the cancellation policy?

Booking The Storr Centre does not include the ceremony, only the venue. Bookings require a 50% non-refundable deposit which will be deducted from the final balance for the venue. The remaining balance is payable 14 days prior to the wedding date. Cancellations within 14 days of the wedding date are non-refundable.
